About me

My journey into the world of professional curtain and blind making began in 2002, when I formally trained with the National Design Academy. However, my passion for sewing and crafting traces back to my childhood, where I eagerly followed in the footsteps of my Nan, mum, and Auntie – all talented crafters in crocheting, knitting, dressmaking, and patchwork.

Following my certification, I embarked on a career as an outworker for various local retail businesses, honing my skills and expanding my knowledge. Balancing my role as a mum to two children and part-time commitments, I took the leap in 2011 and established Made by Beck.

What began in the confines of my front room, then a barn at the family farm in Deeping St Nicholas, in 2017 the business relocated to a more spacious and accommodating work environment at Unit 1b Squirrels Lodge in Frognall, near Market Deeping.

Understanding the importance of a personalised service, I offer home consultations, where I’ll bring an array of samples to guide clients through the process seamlessly. From the beginning of the project to the final fitting, I offer a friendly service, ensuring every aspect is expertly managed with care and attention, completing with a professional fitting service. Every curtain and Roman blind that bears the Made by Beck label is meticulously handcrafted by me in my workroom or by my small team of carefully selected makers. We use traditional techniques and unwavering attention to detail.
